Craig Cundiff: In 2006, Hurricane Katrina ravaged my hometown of Chalmette, Louisiana. Witnessing the power of the sea wipe all of my childhood memories off the map was life changing. One of the biggest lessons I carry with me today was molded by seeing how people across an entire community handle grief differently. The altruistic and the schemers. The affected and the effective. This piece honors the people of Chalmette using whatever they had, in this case a Sea Doo, to search for their neighbors in the aftermath of the storm.
