The Wheedle on the Needle follows a shy orange humanoid creature who loves the peace and quiet of his forest home but is driven away as Seattle grows and becomes noisier. In an attempt to create silence, he climbs atop the Space Needle with a bag of clouds to cover the city with rain so the people of the city will stop whistling happily. When the people discover the cause of the rain, they make him a giant pair of earmuffs. Grateful, the Wheedle clears the skies and returns to sleep atop the Space Needle, his glowing red nose blinking.
