12 × 12 inch painting on panel Watercolor, graphite on arches paper
The wooden house hand built by my friends dad like a permit-less Marin beast off Dearborn, this was were my friend and his brother lived. 8th grade memories. I never really saw my friends dad but a couple times because his room was up what seemed like 8 floors of wooden stairs and ladders. Every room and hallway was full of books and musical instruments. Guitar cords, symbols, kick drums, amps, everywhere. Weekends were spent running around the city, breaking beer bottles under the 12th ave bridge, smoking cigs and watching my friend and his brother play death metal as loud as they wanted as late as they wanted with no neighbors in the area. I have fond memories of this house. I’m not sure if anyone remembers it but it’s mythical to me and the homies from ISSY.
