The land overlooking Georgetown was used as a burial site first by the indigenous population and then settlers in the 1800’s. Having seen its last burial in the 1930s, the property was quickly divided and sold off with the northern half being turned into housing. Headstones were pushed into piles and no records show that bodies were removed.
