This piece depicts three salmon shimmering in the changing light, fin to fin swimming against the current. Every year in the Pacific Northwest thousands of salmon 'run' thick through the surrounding waters, pressing against one another, splashing across shallow streams, and returning to spawn at the place of their birth. Titled 'Spotted Belly' it connects the three creatures as a singular unit nearing the end of their lifelong journey. In the future of our oceans, I hope to see plentiful salmon runs summer after summer in my hometown Seattle, WA.
