Meet Alma. “She was running from something” words spoken by a person who cared for her fleetingly, as Alma Ann Smith met with our legal system. She lost her life on March 3rd, 1983 , a vulnerable 18 year old teenage runaway from Walla Walla Washington while hitchhiking to freedom on the Pacific Highway South near Auburn Wa. She became the 19th known victim of the PNW own most prolific Green River Killer. I’ve depicted this delightful young woman/girl/child as being surrounded by butterflies to symbolize our hope, faith and love as we continue to strive and aspire to protect our most vulnerable ones children, women and men, and mourn in the loss of the 49 to 89 victims of the GRK.
